How to Play Arrow Space

Press Enter or tap the canvas to launch. On desktop your ship answers to the arrow keys or WASD, including diagonals; on touch screens, press and drag anywhere on the play area and the ship glides toward a point just above your fingertip, so your thumb never hides it. Flight is restricted to the lower third of the screen — the upper zone belongs to whatever is falling at you.

You never press a fire button. The ship shoots automatically several times a second, and tapping Space squeezes in one extra shot whenever you want a burst. Press P or the ⏸ button to pause (switching browser tabs pauses for you), and use the "?" in the header to reread the rules mid-run without losing your place.

Scoring is precise: an enemy fighter is worth 30 points and takes two hits, a large asteroid is worth 15 and also takes two, and a small asteroid gives 10 for a single hit. You start with 3 lives; after taking damage the ship blinks for about two seconds of invincibility. When the last life goes, your score and wave are compared against the best stored on your device.

Strategies & Tips

• Hunt fighters first. They weave side to side on a sine path and soak two hits, but at 30 points apiece they are triple the value of a small rock. Line up where the weave will bring them, not where they are now.
• Never trade hull for points. Ramming an object destroys it but subtracts its full point value and costs a life — a collision with a fighter is effectively a 60-point swing plus a heart. Shooting is always the better deal.
• Big rocks need two taps. Any asteroid noticeably larger than the rest has 2 HP. Budget a second shot before you drift into its lane, and remember the debris can bounce off the side walls back toward you.
• Use your vertical room. Most players slide only left and right along the bottom edge. Nudging up or down within your flight zone dodges objects that a purely horizontal escape cannot, especially in late waves when speeds climb.
• Spend the blink wisely. Those two invincible seconds after a hit are the safest moment of the whole run. Cut straight through the densest cluster to reposition instead of cowering in a corner.
• Learn the wave arithmetic. Each wave adds three more objects than the last, spawns them faster, speeds everything up by roughly nine percent, and raises the fighter ratio toward one in three. If wave 6 feels frantic, that is the design — bank points early while the sky is still lazy.
• Pick the right controls for the job. Keyboard input gives crisp, instant direction changes that shine when threading a narrow gap; touch-drag pursues smoothly and never overshoots. On a laptop, one hand over WASD with a thumb resting on Space for bonus shots is the highest-output setup. On a phone, drag with whichever thumb keeps your view of the upper screen clear — everything that will kill you enters from the top.
