Water Sort Puzzle — Free Online Color Sorting Game

Water Sort Puzzle is a free online color sorting game you can play right in your browser — no download and no signup. Tap to pour liquid between tubes, sort every color into its own tube, and climb through endless always-solvable levels. A relaxing, mobile-friendly brain game.

About Water Sort Puzzle

Each tube holds four segments of colored liquid. You can only pour onto a matching color or into an empty tube, and only as much as fits. Every level is procedurally generated by reverse-pouring from a solved layout, so a solution always exists — no impossible boards. Levels ramp from 4 colors up to 8 as you progress, and your level is saved so you can pick up where you left off.

How pouring really works

Tap a tube and it rises out of the rack; tap a destination and the source tips over and pours. Here is the rule that shapes the entire puzzle: a pour transfers your whole run of matching top segments — as many as the destination can hold. If three reds sit on top of your source and the target has three free spaces, all three cross in a single move. If the target only has one space, one red moves and two stay behind, splitting your run.

A tube is finished the moment it holds four segments of one color, marked by a check cap. Finish every color and the level clears itself, celebrates, and rolls into a freshly generated board a couple of seconds later. The color count climbs as you go: 4 colors through level 5, 6 colors through level 15, and 8 from level 16 on — always with exactly two spare tubes. Undo rewinds up to your last three pours, Restart deals the identical layout again, and your level number lives in the browser so the run continues across sessions.

Pouring with a plan

  • Assemble runs before relocating them. Moving three matching segments as one pour instead of three separate ones is the core efficiency of this game. Merge same-colored tops where they already sit, then transfer the combined run once.
  • Protect your empty tubes. An empty accepts any color, which makes it the most flexible — and most wasteable — resource on the board. Only spend one when it unblocks a buried color or lets you complete a tube, never just to declutter.
  • Do the bookkeeping on hidden segments. Exactly four segments of each color exist. Count the ones you can see and you know precisely what is hiding at the bottom of the unsorted tubes — often enough to plan three pours ahead.
  • Mind the capacity before you tip. Pouring a long run into a tube with one free slot strands the remainder on the source and costs extra moves to reunite. Check free space, not just top color.
  • Use undo as a periscope. With three rewinds banked, an exploratory pour that exposes a mystery segment can be taken back immediately — you keep the information and lose nothing.
  • Read the letters on tricky racks. The top segment of every run carries its color's initial, which settles cyan-versus-blue arguments instantly once eight colors are in play.

Frequently asked questions

Is Water Sort Puzzle free?

Yes. Water Sort Puzzle is completely free to play online with no signup and no in-app purchases.

Do I need to download anything?

No download and no install. Water Sort Puzzle runs instantly in your web browser.

Can I play Water Sort Puzzle on mobile?

Yes. Water Sort Puzzle is mobile-first and works with touch on phones and tablets, and with a mouse on desktop.

How do I play Water Sort Puzzle?

Tap a tube to pick it up, then tap another tube to pour. You can only pour onto the same color or into an empty tube, and only as much as fits. A tube is complete when it holds four segments of one color. Sort every color to clear the level.

Is every Water Sort level solvable?

Yes. Every level is generated by starting from a solved layout and performing reverse pours, so a solution always exists. Levels get harder as you progress, adding more colors.

Why did only part of my liquid pour over?

A pour moves your run of matching top segments but only as much as the destination can hold. If the target has less free space than your run, the remainder stays in the source tube.

How many moves can I undo?

Undo remembers your last three pours. Beyond that, Restart re-deals the identical starting layout so you can attempt the same board with a clean slate.

Do I have to finish a level in one sitting?

No. Your current level number is saved in your browser, so you can close the page and resume the climb later on the same device.

How to Play

Tap (or click) a tube to pick it up, then tap another tube to pour. You can only pour onto the same color or into an empty tube, and only as much as fits. A tube is done when it holds 4 of one color — sort every color to clear the level. Stuck? Use Undo (last 3 moves) or Restart. The letter on each color helps if shades look alike.
